What if vs now what

I think all my life I have asked “what if” questions in the sense of “what if” I did something differently, where would my life be now.  “What if” I didn’t make that big mistake or take that wrong path.  To dwell on “what ifs” months to years later isn’t healthy or productive.  It’s not like you can travel back in time and change things.  You should ask the question “now what” instead of “what if”.  “Now what” am I going to do moving forward?  What do I do so I don’t repeat the same mistakes?  If you ask the right questions you can learn from your failures and move on a much stronger wiser person.  You can look back on your life and see all the good that came out of what you learned from that one bad misstep.
